Purpose of נבואה

According to Devarim Perek י"ח Passuk י"ח, Hashem will put His words into the Navi's mouth. Then the Navi will replay it back to the Jewish people. This indicates that the Navi's purpose is to make communication easier between Hashem and the Jewish nation. Like everyone, the Neviim had restrictions. He cannot change or give any new laws to the nation. The Nevuah that people got in this time came to them in a riddle or in a metaphor that he or she had to decipher. We learned in class that different people benefit from Nevuah differently. It has personal benefit to the Navi himself. It benefits other nations to prevent them from sinning. But the main benefit is to the Jewish people to tell them that they need to repent to make up for their sin. 

We learned that we use Nevuah to communicate between Hashem and the Jewish people because Hashem can't speak to us directly because his voice is to holy. This reminded me of when Hashem gave us the Torah. When Hashem was presenting the Ten Commandments to the Jewish people, He started off saying the first couple. But the Jewish people couldn't live through his voice, so Moshe had to read the rest of the commandments. We can't live through the voice of Hashem, so we need a messenger to communicate with Hashem.
