In Pesukim 10-15 it talks about Hashem not wanting the Jews to bring him sacrifices anymore. While reading these pesukim you wonder why Hashem would do this, isn't this the way of the Jews forgiveness? We learn that Hashem did not want to accept the offering from Bnei Yisrael becasue they were being like the people of Sedom. Like the people of Sedom the Jews lacked Ben Adam LeChavero. All they were doing was trying to get Hashem's attention by giving him sacrifices, but at the same time they were being rude to their own people.
While learning this I realized that you can not only have Ben Adam Lemakom, you need to also have Ben Adam Lechavero. You need to not only focus on Hashem, you also need to focus on those around you. Doing just one of these is not enough, you need to do both because if you don't you are hurting one or the other.
I'm actually not quite sure what I think about this topic. You make a very good point about needing to focus on both Hashem and the people around us, but if you think about it the mitzvah between man and man might be more important. This is because if you sin between man and man, you are hurting not only man, but also G-d. And it is harder for a human to forgive and forget completely about what you did. If you do a sin between man and G-d, Hashem has no trouble forgiving and forgetting as long as you do Teshuva.
